Alternator Construction
The car alternator is rectified by diodes, and the output is a generator of direct current. Its function is: when the engine is running at a speed above the idle speed, it supplies power to electrical equipment other than the starter, and also charges the battery at the same time.
First, the classification of alternators
There are many types and different forms of automotive alternators, which can be classified according to the overall structure, rectifier structure and grounding form.
(1) Classified according to the overall structure
According to different overall structures, alternators can be divided into the following types.
1) Ordinary alternator. Automotive alternators that have neither special devices nor special functions and features. Such as JF132 N type alternator for Dongfeng series automobiles.
2) Integral alternator. That is, an alternator equipped with an electronic regulator on the body, such as a JFZ1913 Z-type 14V 90A alternator for Volkswagen.
3) Brushless Alternator. That is, an alternator without brushes and slip rings. For example, JFW2621 28V 45A integral generator for Dongfeng cars and JFW2518A 28V 27A integral generator for STEYR cars.
4) Alternator with pump. That is, an alternator with a vacuum brake booster pump, such as the JFB1712 alternator.
