Principles for selecting assembly force of assistant-less structural connectors
The requirements for assembly force are mainly reflected in the ease of operation of workers at the production site. Generally, operators will complain easily when the operating force is large, and it will also be difficult to maintain later. The factors that affect the assembly force are mainly the insertion and extraction force of a single conductive terminal and the number of holes required for a single connector. According to the national connector industry standard QC/T 1067, the maximum joining force of automotive connectors does not exceed 75N. Therefore, when encountering a connector with a large number of holes, the connector with an assistant structure can be given priority, in order to reduce the assembly force of the connector.
Principles for selecting assembly force of assistant structural connectors
Generally, when the number of connector holes entered in the design is large, the assembly force of the connector will be particularly large. At this time, priority should be given to connectors with assistant structures. This type of connector uses the design principles of levers and other assistant structures to enable the connector to be assembled and combined with very little force.
Assembly space requirements
In the actual assembly process, the spatial factors that affect connector assembly are as follows:
(1) The volume of the connector itself needs to be smaller than the size of the assembly space.
(2) The assembly space must have certain operability.
This space should be considered when assembling with the help of external tools, such as hands, pliers, etc. The most commonly used one is manual operation, so the working size of the hand must be considered during assembly.
Generally, when assembling connectors by hand, the assembly dimensions for the head height of the hand are about 60mm, and the assembly dimensions for the tail height of the hand are between 85mm and 120mm. In this way, the space occupied during assembly must be considered when designing the input.
(3) There should be no sharp objects around the installation.
fixed requirements
For automotive connectors, in principle, any position on the car body needs to be fixed, so the fixing method and reliability of the connector on the car body are particularly important.
Generally, the fixing methods of automobile connectors can be divided into bracket fixing and fixed buckle fixing. Its advantages and disadvantages are: the fixing method of the bracket can be more flexible but the cost is higher, and the fixing method of the fixed buckle has certain versatility and lower cost. Therefore, in most cases, the fixed buckle method is used.
