1. Fault diagnosis and maintenance procedures of engine electronic control system

Practice has proved that the faults of the engine electronic control system can be diagnosed and repaired according to the following procedures.

1) Ask the user about the situation. Such as the time and conditions of the failure (including weather, temperature, road conditions and engine operating conditions, etc.); failure phenomenon or symptoms; frequency of failure; whether and which parts have been overhauled, etc.

2) Perform a visual inspection. That is to check whether the control parts of the electronic control system are normal; whether the electrical line connector or connector is loose or disconnected; Deflated and so on. The influence of some sensors and actuators on engine performance is shown in Table 9-3. Familiarity with the influence of sensors and actuators on engine and vehicle running status is extremely important for rapid diagnosis and troubleshooting.

3) Check according to the basic inspection procedure. When diagnosing the failure of the engine electronic control system, in order to determine the type and location of the failure as soon as possible and avoid detours as much as possible, after the visual inspection of the car, the basic inspection can be carried out according to the procedure shown in Figure 9-21, including idle speed inspection adjustment and ignition Timing check adjustment.

4) Carry out self-diagnosis test and read fault codes. If there are fault codes, troubleshoot the faults one by one according to the fault causes and parts indicated in the fault code table; if there are no fault codes but the fault symptoms still exist, judge whether the test circuit or components are working normally through the fault symptom simulation test, and refer to "Fault Symptom Table" for diagnostic checks to narrow down the problem.
