Classification by water loss
According to the different water loss, the battery is divided into three types: normal water loss, low water loss and slight water loss.
1) Normal water loss battery. Refers to the battery whose water mass loss is greater than 4g/A·h (grams per ampere-hour) calculated according to the rated capacity Cn during the water loss test.
2) Low water loss battery. Refers to the battery whose water quality loss is not greater than 4g/A·h calculated according to the rated capacity Cn during the water loss test.
3) Slight water damages the battery. Refers to the battery whose water quality loss is not greater than 1g/A·h calculated according to the rated capacity Cn during the water loss test.
Second, the function of the battery
When the engine is working normally, the electrical energy required by the electrical equipment is mainly supplied by the generator, and the functions of the battery are as follows:
1) Start the power supply. When starting the engine, power is supplied to the starting system and ignition system.
2) Backup power supply. When the engine is running at low speed, the generator is not generating power, or the voltage is low, it supplies power to the alternator field winding, ignition system and other electrical equipment.
3) Store electrical energy. When the engine is running at a high speed and the generator is normally powered, the remaining electrical energy of the generator is converted into chemical energy and stored.
4) Collaborative power supply. When the generator is overloaded, assist the generator to supply power to the power system.
5) Stabilize the power supply voltage and protect electronic equipment. The battery is equivalent to a large-capacity capacitor, which can not only keep the voltage of the automotive electrical system stable, but also absorb the instantaneous overvoltage in the circuit to prevent damage to electronic equipment.
