(1) Classification according to charging capacity According to different charging capabilities, automotive batteries are mainly divided into two types: dry charging batteries and maintenance-free batteries.
1) Dry charged battery. It refers to the battery that can store the electricity obtained in the manufacturing process for a long time (generally 1 year) when the plate is in a dry state. Also known as dry-charged battery, referred to as dry-charged battery.
2) Maintenance-free battery. According to the national standard GB/T 5008.1-2013 "Lead-acid batteries for starters Part 1: Technical conditions and test methods", maintenance-free batteries refer to batteries that do not require maintenance within the service life (4 years) under the specified conditions. Micro-water loss battery, the English name is Maintenance-Free Battery, referred to as MF battery. The specified conditions are: refers to the full charging of the battery by the constant voltage and current limiting charging method and the water loss test.
According to the provisions of the national standard "Lead-acid batteries for starters Part 1: Technical conditions and test methods" GB/T 5008.1-2013, batteries can also be classified according to structure and water loss.
(2) Classification by structure
According to different structures, batteries are divided into two types: exhaust type and valve-regulated type.
1) Vented (flooded) battery. Refers to batteries with one or more exhaust devices on the battery cover that can release gas products, including normal water loss, low water loss and slight water loss batteries.
2) Valve-regulated battery. Refers to the battery that is sealed under normal conditions, but when the internal pressure exceeds a predetermined value, the gas recombination device can allow the gas to be released. In this kind of battery, the electrolyte is not flowing, and water or electrolyte cannot be added under normal circumstances, and it is also called a battery with gas recombination function.
