When in use, the positive plate is covered by the separator bag, and the shed active material remains in the bag, which not only prevents the short circuit of the plate, but also cancels the protruding ribs at the bottom of the shell, increasing the volume of the upper part of the plate, thereby increasing Large electrolyte storage capacity.
3. Electrolyte
The electrolyte of the car battery is prepared by a certain ratio of concentrated sulfuric acid with a density of 1.84g/cm3 and distilled water. The proportion of sulfuric acid in the electrolyte is called the relative density of the electrolyte, usually referred to as the density of the electrolyte. According to the provisions of the national standard GB/T 5008.1-2013 "Lead-acid batteries for starters Part 1: Technical conditions and test methods", the density of the electrolyte when the vented batteries for automobile starters are fully charged should be at 25 °C. Keep it within the range of 1.27~1.30g/cm3.
The purity of the electrolyte is an important factor affecting the electrical performance and service life of the battery. Therefore, the electrolyte and distilled water used for batteries must meet the requirements of the machinery industry standard JB/T 10052-2010 "Electrolyte for Lead-acid Batteries" and JB/T 10053-2010 "Water for Lead-Acid Batteries", and the sulfuric acid used must meet the chemical industry standards HG/T 2692-2015 "Sulfuric Acid for Batteries". Because ordinary industrial sulfuric acid and ordinary water contain many impurities such as copper and iron, which will accelerate the self-discharge of the battery, it cannot be used for vehicle batteries.
