1.4.3 Vehicle Product Development Process Architecture

1. Three-level process file system

Since the development of complete vehicle products is very complicated and the development cycle is long, from customer needs to product concept, program design, product development, test verification, and finally put into production, the whole process involves various aspects such as market, R&D, finance, procurement, quality, and sales. The mutual cooperation of elements requires not only clear business flow, but also great collaboration between businesses. Therefore, the product development process basically decomposes all business activities according to the four levels of stages, steps, tasks, and activities. Based on this, a three-level process file system is formed, as shown in Figure 1-9. Among them, from stage to step is defined as a first-level process, from step to task is defined as a second-level process, and from task to activity is defined as a third-level process.

1) First-level process: It mainly covers stages to steps, and mainly solves the coordination relationship of the whole process, including marketing, sales, R&D, manufacturing, procurement, finance and other steps that need to be completed at each stage, corresponding to the first-level plan of the project.

2) Second-level process: mainly covers steps to tasks, mainly solves the collaborative relationship in the business field, regulates how to carry out various activities in each field under the first-level process, and corresponds to the second-level plan of the project.

3) Three-level process: It mainly covers tasks to activities, and mainly solves the implementation of specific business activities in the product development process. It is the basic business unit of development and R&D activities and corresponds to the three-level plan of the project.

2. Four-level process file structure

At the same time, in order to ensure that there is no deviation in the implementation of the three-level process, most enterprises have established a four-level process document structure, as shown in Figure 1-10. One is to solve the explicit presentation of the process, and the other is to facilitate the dissemination of the process system. Promotion, and the third is to be able to guide the project roles to carry out the orderly advancement of specific business work.
