Classification according to the rectifier structure
According to the structure of the rectifier, the alternator can be divided into the following types.
1) 6 tube alternator. That is, the rectifier consists of 6 rectifier diodes to form an alternator with a three-phase bridge full-wave rectifier circuit. For example, JF1522A, JF1518, and JF1526 14V55A alternators are used in Jiefang vehicles.
2) 8 tube alternator. That is, the rectifier assembly is an alternator composed of 8 diodes. Such as JFZ1542 type 14V 45A type alternator.
3) 9 tube alternator. That is, the rectifier assembly is an alternator composed of 9 diodes. For example, JFZ2518A 28V 27A integral generator is used for Steyr (STEYR) cars.
4) 11 tube alternator. That is, the rectifier assembly is an alternator composed of 11 diodes. For example, JFZ1913Z 14V 90A generator for Volkswagen and JFW2621 28V 45A generator for Dongfeng Motor.
Classification according to the grounding method of the magnetic field winding
According to the different grounding methods of the field winding, the alternator is divided into the following two types.
1) Internal ground type alternator. That is, an alternator in which one end of the generator field winding is connected to the generator casing. For example, JF132 N type alternator is used for Dongfeng Motor.
2) External ground type alternator. That is, one end of the field winding is grounded to the generator after the regulator. For example, JFZ1913 Z 14V 90A generator for Volkswagen and JFW2621 28V 45A generator for Dongfeng Motor.
