The Effect of Liquid Refrigerant on Terminal Blocks
Experimental study on the effect of liquid refrigerant on terminal blocks. Select a rotor compressor that starts normally and is qualified to be filled with gaseous and liquid refrigerants respectively, and test its insulation resistance.
The experiment shows that the influence of liquid refrigerant on the insulation resistance of terminal blocks decreases exponentially with the increase of refrigerant charge. The influence of liquid refrigerant adhesion on the insulation resistance of terminal blocks is much greater than that of gaseous refrigerant, and may lead to unqualified insulation and voltage resistance performance of terminal blocks, and even lead to terminal ignition and other faults.
When the two devices (evaporator and condenser) are blocked, resulting in poor heat exchange or abnormal compressor operation, the liquid refrigerant generated will affect the insulation performance of the wiring terminals. To address the impact of liquid refrigerant generated by abnormal operation of the system or compressor on the wiring terminals, it is necessary to regularly clean the evaporator and condenser to ensure the heat exchange effect of the two devices.
Metal foreign objects generated during the manufacturing process entering the compressor and touching the wiring terminals can cause electrical insulation performance to be unqualified. Select normal compressor casing cover and simulated defective casing cover for simulation reproduction test.
Experiments have shown that when metal conductive substances are attached to the terminal blocks, the insulation and withstand voltage performance of the terminal blocks will be reduced. And when metal substances attach to the terminal blocks and cannot be washed away by the refrigerant, it will cause permanent electrical insulation breakdown of the terminal blocks, causing terminal sparking or even terminal ejection.
The above tests indicate that if the pressure resistance performance of the compressor product is unqualified due to poor wiring terminals, it can be effectively detected by the shipment pressure resistance inspection equipment. Establishing pressure testing equipment for shipment can reduce the risk of defective products leaving the market. During the production process, it is necessary to strictly control the generation of metal foreign objects and the entry of foreign objects into the compressor, which may cause terminal sparking.
