Product application issues related to the return of connector terminals mainly refer to the problems that may cause the terminal to be withdrawn during the production process of the wire harness. Generally, it includes terminal crimping problems and terminal assembly problems. "Banana" terminals are a common problem in the terminal crimping process. It refers to the excessive bending of the terminal caused by improper crimping, so that the centerline of the terminal's junction area and the crimping area are not parallel, see Figure 5. When the degree of excessive bending is light, it will cause the insertion and withdrawal force of the connector to increase, which will affect the assembly performance; if the degree is severe, it will cause the male terminal to be unable to insert into the effective insertion area of the female terminal during the mating process of the connector, resulting in terminal withdrawal . For example, during the mating assembly process of rear taillights and wire harnesses in the assembly workshop of an automobile factory, the connector terminals at the wire harness end frequently withdraw pins, and the occurrence rate was 20%. After analyzing the problem parts, it was found that due to improper crimping of the terminals, Excessive bending of some of the terminals (banana terminals), causing the harness end connector terminals to back out during assembly of the harness end connector to the rear tail light. After making adjustments to the terminal crimp, the problem was resolved.

The reasons for the withdrawal of the connector terminal include three aspects: ① The holding force of the terminal in the sheath is unqualified—generally caused by design reasons, manufacturing reasons or materials used; ②Pair interference—generally Caused by design reasons or manufacturing reasons; ③Product application problems——mainly caused by inappropriate use methods during product use. In actual use, if there is a situation where the terminal is withdrawn, the cause of the problem should be analyzed first, and it should be solved in a targeted manner.
